George Whitty is a keyboardist, Emmy-nominated composer, Grammy-winning producer and mix engineer.

As a pianist and synthesist, he spent 15 years performing live with the Brecker Brothers, David Sanborn, Richard Bona, Chaka Khan, Sadao Watanabe, and a dozen others. His recording resume includes some of the best-selling records of all time including Santana’s Supernatural (with Dave Matthews), Celine Dion’s Falling Into You and These are Special Times.

As a producer, his Grammy-winning streak began with Chaka Khan’s The Woman I Am in 1992 and extends through 3 releases with the Brecker Brothers —- most recently Randy Brecker’s CD 34th and Lex (2004’s Grammy-winner for Contemporary Jazz Record of the Year) which he produced, programmed and mixed.

As a composer, he’s written for a wide variety of TV shows ranging from The Road to Stardom with Missy Elliot to As the World Turns (for which he received a 2006 Emmy nomination). He recently completed the score to the feature dark comedy The Getdown. His score for the film One won the Gold Medal at the 2008 Park City Film Music Festival.

Several years ago, George relocated to the Los Angeles area. He is currently working on Herbie Hancock’s forthcoming CD and focusing on a variety of film and TV projects.
